In case you’re not familiar with this story, here’s a quick overview.
Papa John’s CEO claims that because of Obamacare, his costs will go so high he will have to lay off employees, and drop everyone below 30 hours so he doesn’t have to offer them healthcare. Forbes Magazine, which as we all know is no lefty liberal outfit, disputes his claim and calculates that it would add roughly 3.4 to 4.6 cents a pie.
This literally started as a comment typed into a thread on a conservative web page on Facebook. Since then it’s started to take on a life of its own. Thanks, everyone!
Here’s the writeup by the large liberal grassroots group, Being Liberal.
Ad Hawk is a cool smartphone app tells you who is behind any political ad you hear. It’s basically like a Shazam for political advertising. Just capture an audio sample to find out:
• The ad sponsor
• Money received or spent
• Where the ad is on the air
• Media reports on the political group or ad
HR 3261, also called the “SOPA” bill, will make radical changes to the freedom that you now experience on the Internet. In a nutshell, it will take power away from the people and hand it over to a small group of powerful entities, like Rupert Murdoch and others of his ilk.
Supporters of this bill say that it is intended to curtail industrial-level copyright infringement in places like China, and that the new law would never be used against individuals. If that is the case, the bill should be rewritten to reflect that. At the end of the day, only what’s written counts.
