HR 3261, also called the “SOPA” bill, will make radical changes to the freedom that you now experience on the Internet. In a nutshell, it will take power away from the people and hand it over to a small group of powerful entities, like Rupert Murdoch and others of his ilk.
Supporters of this bill say that it is intended to curtail industrial-level copyright infringement in places like China, and that the new law would never be used against individuals. If that is the case, the bill should be rewritten to reflect that. At the end of the day, only what’s written counts.

“If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as plumber or teacher makes me a warrior for the middle class, I’ll wear that charge as a badge of honor. I’m a warrior for the middle class; I’m happy to fight for working people. Because the only class warfare I’ve seen is the battle that’s been waged against the middle class in this country for a decade.” — President Barack Obama

A new Fox News Poll shows that 71% of Republicans don’t want Sarah Palin to run for president. So naturally, this is the perfect time to draft this great American into running for the highest office in the land. Won’t you join with us as we make our appeal in simple words of one or two syllables?

In the midst of all the political hurly-burly of our lives, it’s easy to forget how lucky we are to be Americans. A homeless person in America today has ready access to better medical care than the King of England (at that time the most powerful person in the world) did only a hundred years ago.
If a policeman pulls you over, he’s not stopping you to extort money from you. If you criticize the President, you are not going to be snatched off your front sidewalk by a group of non-uniformed men, and then taken to a prison cell where you will be tortured for months or years. And your taxes are not a crushing burden that will keep you forever mired in poverty while aristocrats play polo with your withered heart.
If you are living in America today, you are one of the luckiest people who has ever lived. Truly, we are blessed.
I don’t mind a (tiny) portion of my taxes going to help the poor. What doesn’t seem fair is for me to pay taxes while a wealthy behemoth like General Electric gets away with paying no taxes at all, as they famously did in 2009. As Leona Helmsley once said, “Taxes are for the little people.” Is that the way we want America to be?

The power of prayer is indeed strong, so we are calling all prayer warriors to gather with us in spirit as we bow our heads in unison and attempt to defeat this mighty foe. Ricky Perry, an avowed secessionist and sometime money-changer in the temple, would lay waste to our great nation. Can we allow this? Brethren and sistren, we can not.

These bills are showing up everywhere now. And the amazing thing is, the statement above is true. You may recall the recent public discussion about which large corporations have paid no taxes in recent years, largely because of loopholes put in place by Republican legislators. For example, General Electric paid no taxes at all in 2009. Not a small amount. Not a low rate. They literally did not pay a dollar.
This is the sort of protest that one can engage in from the comfort of one’s own home, with a glass of ice tea at one’s elbow. Of course, defacing money is a crime, so PoliticalLoudmouth would never sanction such a thing. Sugar and lemon for you?

It’s good to see that Americans can see causes and effects, and we’re not the flatworms that Fox News and the Republican Party often take us for. A new poll by Quinnipiac University indicates that 54 percent of Americans think Bush is to blame for exploding the federal deficit and swelling unemployment, whereas just 27 percent believe it is President Obama’s fault.
Those figures are bad news for Republicans, who are hoping to use the nation’s poor economic state as a key issue in 2012.
