“If asking a billionaire to pay the same tax rate as plumber or teacher makes me a warrior for the middle class, I’ll wear that charge as a badge of honor. I’m a warrior for the middle class; I’m happy to fight for working people. Because the only class warfare I’ve seen is the battle that’s been waged against the middle class in this country for a decade.” — President Barack Obama

It’s easy to lose track of all the things Pres. Obama has already accomplished, even in the face of “I’ll kill us both if I have to” opposition from the Republican leadership. So this campaign is a series of reminders of how much we have to celebrate. Yay!

We’re kicking off a new poster series today. A lot has happened during Obama’s presidency, so it’s easy to lose track of the many things he and his administration have already accomplished. For example, did you know that in 2010, Pres, Obama created more private sector jobs than Bush did during his entire presidency? See the facts here.

Today Pres. Obama endorsed Sen. Feinstein’s wonderfully-named “Respect for Marriage Act,” which will strike down the bigoted “Defense of Marriage Act.” Great to see the Dems using the power of language to confuse the opposition.

It’s good to see that Americans can see causes and effects, and we’re not the flatworms that Fox News and the Republican Party often take us for. A new poll by Quinnipiac University indicates that 54 percent of Americans think Bush is to blame for exploding the federal deficit and swelling unemployment, whereas just 27 percent believe it is President Obama’s fault.
Those figures are bad news for Republicans, who are hoping to use the nation’s poor economic state as a key issue in 2012.
